Professionals often have to get acquainted
with the properties of the whole group of the materials defined
by some standards, usually from some foreign country.
Of course, you
can do all this in more classic way, from the books.
If you have books and the standards from all over the
world!
Now look how you'll do it with Key to
Steel. It is faster and more interesting.
And
remember...
You can do it from wherever and
whenever you want.
You don't need to carry your whole
library home, to hotel room, client's site and everywhere you are
going.
|
Step 1: Choosing
a search option
|
Suppose that you want to
learn more about European (Euronorm) tool steels.
First you have to choose a
search option. To select materials by group (group:
Tool steels ), you are using Advanced
Search
option. | |
Step 2: Defining
search criteria
|
To define the search criteria,
all you have to do is to select European Union (Euronorm
- EN) from the country's pop-up list and to check box
Tool steels .
When you click
Submit button, Key to Steel
search engine will in a few seconds select all Euronorm tool
steels and display them in the list!

Please note that, in order to
boost search engine's performance, list length is limited to
500 materials. If a query generates list with more than 500
materials, it has to be
refined. | |
Step 3: Selecting
a material from the list of the results
|
Selecting materials by country
and group generally results in list of steel materials that
satisfy criteria you gave.
Depending on given criteria, this
list can be quite large (up to 500 materials), so it is
displayed in pages. By using navigation buttons, you can
navigate through the pages, jump to the beginning or the end
of the list or go to specific page.

If you are
interested in properties of some specific material from
the list, you can click on its designation. To find out how to view
material properties, please refer to steps 4, 5 and 6 of Tour
